I think Bud, Not Buddy would make a great movie. I would want this movie to sort of be like the Wizard of Oz, where it is initially filmed in black and white and then changes to color. It would change to color when he is having dinner with Herman E. Calloway and the Dusky Devastators of the Depression and he realizes that this is where he is supposed to be. I might eliminate some of the band members if I needed to, it seems like there would really only need to be Jimmy and Steady Eddie. I think it would be a really fun movie because Bud has such a wild imagination! Like when he is stuck in the shed and when he thinks Mr. Lewis is a vampire, I think it would be really fun to come up with the scenes the way he might have seen it. I would like to have a famous band play the part of the Devastators. I think the cars that they drive would also be an exciting thing to find for the movie, since the way they are described through Bud’s point of view is very exciting. I really think this movie would be fun mostly because of Bud’s attitude toward life.

Ramona and Her Father
I could certainly see Romona and Her Father turned into a movie. I’m sure it would even make a great television series since I know there are many books about Ramona. It should be shot in a sepia tone, because it is based in the 70’s I think. I could really see the scenes where she is making the crown out of burs and when she and her father are drawing on the large piece of paper on the floor. I could see it being a nice spring day and it being a little bit dingy inside their home because her father smoked.
I am not clear from the book where the setting is, but in my television version, I would have it set in the south. I think it would be fairly easy to set it all up, she is mostly at home, school and just playing outside, so it would be all settings that are already there!
As for eliminating any characters, I do not think that would be necessary, there are few in the book already. It would mostly focus on Romona, her father, her mother and her sister. There would be a few scenes with friends and the teacher, but I do not think there would be a need to eliminate anybody, which would be nice.
I am actually quite curious as to why this never did get made into a series. The way it is written, you can just envision it right away what it would look like, it is so descriptive you wouldn’t even have to think about it. I also think that the subject matter is really relevant right now in many people’s lives.

The Book of Three
While reading The Book of Three I couldn’t help but constantly be reminded of The Lord of The Rings. There were so many similarities it was almost a little unsettling. I did, however, quite enjoyed it because of that fact. I thought the story was exciting and well delivered. I do wish there was more description of that the actual Book of Three was, they just talk about it when Taran is meeting people that are in it such as Medwyn and Gwydion or when Dallban is reading or writing in it.
I was very fascinated with the tunnels underneath the Spiral Castle. I liked how they just came up, Taran was sitting on the wrong stone all the time. This seemed to be the only original thought in this book that was not so similar to The Lord of the Rings. Seriously, as I read the book, I kept saying, “what’s next, a glowing sword?”, then low and behold, a GLOWING SWORD! I really started to get irritated, but I did enjoy reading the story, ebcuase I really liked the ones it seems to be based on.
